Are you a hearer or a doer?

Are you a hearer or a doer?

James 1:22-24
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

Ouch! When you hear the truth about how you parent, how you hurt someone’s feelings, how you are lazy, how you relate or don’t relate with others how do you respond? Do you get an attitude? Do you blame the other? Do you take responsibility for your actions, words or lack of? Are you a problem solver or a problem maker is that bottom line?

Conviction is a blessing not a problem. As long as we offer excuses we never make progress.

We are responsible for ourselves nobody else is.

What can you do today that will change and break old habits that hurt you & others?

One thing I have found is that people hear what you say & if they don’t like it they disconnect. When we disconnect we not only loose contact with others but we also loose contact with ourselves as well.

We often need others to help us see ourselves. Like the above verse says if we do not do what is right we walk away and immediately forget what we look like in the mirror. That is an open door for strife to begin whether it is vocalized or not it is there. You feel it when you get near that person again or even hear their voice. Why? Because we would rather forget the truth of what it really looks like & blindly save face even though it is a temporary fix, we deceive ourselves. We blindly walk away forgetting what we look like as the Word says.

Life is full of tough stuff. My advise is to allow the Truth to set you free & be who God intended you to be. Jesus is our loving example of who we are to be.

Our conversations can be like a telephone. Busy, disconnected, off the hook or a clear connection. The choice again is ours 100%.

God Bless Your week abundantly!
