stretch of love

DSC02162-1

Did you know that I can talk myself out of what God is asking me to do?

Or I can marinate on my fears until they stop me dead in my tracks?

I  can complain myself into a frenzy! Successfully stopping myself from learning the lesson that I am suppose to be walking through……can anyone say RETAKE!

To be a womb (where love is conceived) for God means there will be stretchmark’s.

Ann Voskamp

God has been talking to me a lot about love and stretching my understanding of what that looks like. Its definitely not running from the lady at church because I feel uncomfortable when she over lavishes me with compliments. Thankful that she likes me yes…but embarrassed Yeah A LOT! It is also not keeping my grievances or even ideas from those who may benefit from them if I would put my fears and anxiety (self-absorption) aside.

Aren’t I suppose to cast all my cares upon the Lord!!?? Don’t I stand on the promise that all things work together for good to those who love God.

While I know these things in knowledge, there are times that I do not stand u

Encouragement – Show You CARE
Through my work as a writer and counselor, as well as personal experiences with grief, I’ve learned that the holiday season is hard for many people. Make a difference by showing you CARE.

Connect – When someone is hurting, we often don’t know what to say or do. But even simply expressing, “I don’t know what to say but I’m sorry and I care about you,” in person or in writing can bring a lot of comfort.

Accept – When we try to help someone, it’s easy to try to direct their emotions or give advice. By accepting others and allowing them to safely express sadness, anger, fear, frustration, and other emotions in our presence, we help them heal.

Respond – You can take action by bringing a meal, babysitting, or running an errand. Or you might do something more symbolic like donating to a charity in honor of a loved one, writing down a special memory in a card, or giving a thoughtful gift.

Extend – People are often flooded with attention when a loss occurs but support usually decreases over time. By remembering and continuing to reach out, especially during the holidays and on special occasions, you can help bring encouragement and hope.

Washing feet

John 13: 10-17 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.”  For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean. When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.  “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.  Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.  Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.  Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Jesus came and BATHED us when He died on the cross for us….

YOU ARE MADE CLEAN!

yet here is says –Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet.

Feet …where you go , what you do, the way u choose

It says we are to wash one another’s feet.

Have you ever “tripped” over other peoples feet …have you ever misunderstood or been misunderstood…I have. Tripping over and getting angry over their choices…where they go, what they do, and the way they chose to do it.

To wash feet is a humble service – wash …cleanse…

take the dirt away

It takes humility to forgive and wash hurts that people do to you away. It takes humility to consider that u could be wrong. To choose to ask before assuming. To not be angry and gossip. To not have a pity party and re-stir the hurt you feel creating more pain. To choose to be thankful and grateful instead of envious and jealous. To not reject when you don’t understand, when you just don’t get someone’s behavior. To not reject when you have been rejected. It take humility to not be selfish.

All these things are things we trip over….the feet of another.

We need washing ….and we need to wash others

talk about it

deal with it

communicate wants and needs

learn to live in unity

Drama, hate, anger, chaos, division ….are on the road that we walk. We may step in a pile of crap sometimes but what are we going to do ….

wash our feet ?

or

Kill the one who crapped there?

( Jesus said Hate was just like Murder)

Lets be a servant like Christ and wash feet!

The gift to give….

Pictures I like1

Holidays can bring stress and chaos….

But this season don’t let it in!

Find peace within by being honest at all times!

Bring Joy in the moment by being present to all the gifts you have in front of you, they bring a reason to be thankful.

And Choose to give LOVE even when you may think someone doesn’t deserve it…. -YOU DO!

What you give is what you get …..even if it shows up in the time frame of eventually!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
